Terms of Service

SeatSnag is provided by DevPlus LLC, an Arizona-registered limited liability company ("SeatSnag," "we," "our," or "us"). We do not publish a physical mailing address; please direct all legal or privacy correspondence to [email protected].

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SeatSnag (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not accept the Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

SeatSnag passively monitors the publicly available Arizona State University ("ASU") class-search pages and sends Discord direct-message ("DM") alerts to registered users when a seat in a course they specify becomes available. SeatSnag is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by ASU, Discord, or any other third party.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old and otherwise capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using SeatSnag, you represent and warrant that you satisfy these requirements and that your use of the Service is not prohibited under any applicable law.

4. Account Registration & Security

The only credentials you supply to SeatSnag are obtained through Discord OAuth (Discord user ID, username, avatar, and any OAuth-scoped data you authorize) plus limited payment information from Stripe(customer ID, subscription status). You must keep your Discord account secure and are responsible for all activity through your SeatSnag account.

5. Fees, Billing & Refunds

  • Subscription: Standard plan: $3/month, Premium plan: $7/month.
  • Payment Processor: All payments are processed by Stripe; we never store full payment-card numbers.
  • Refunds: If, due to a SeatSnag service failure, a seat opened in any monitored class during your paid subscription period and you did not receive a notification, you may request a full refund for that period by emailing[email protected] within thirty (30) days after the period ends.

6. Notifications & Messaging

Alerts are delivered via Discord DMs only. Standard data charges imposed by your internet or mobile provider may apply. Discord outages or API rate limits may delay or block delivery; SeatSnag is not responsible for missed alerts caused by third-party platforms.

7. License & Intellectual Property

SeatSnag grants you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal academic-planning purposes. All SeatSnag software, content, and trademarks remain our property. You may not reproduce, modify, decompile, sell, or exploit any part of the Service except as expressly permitted.

8. Prohibited Conduct

  1. Violate any ASU policy, Discord terms, or applicable law;
  2. Use automated scripts or bots to scrape ASU beyond SeatSnag's built-in functionality;
  3. Interfere with the Service or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems;
  4. Reverse-engineer, copy, or re-sell SeatSnag.

9. Third-Party Services & Links

SeatSnag interacts with ASU's public websites and Discord's API. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and SeatSnag is not responsible for their availability or content.

10. Privacy

Your use of SeatSnag is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT YOU WILL SUCCESSFULLY ENROLL IN ANY CLASS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SEATSNAG'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) USD $50 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SEATSNAG DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DevPlus LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

14. Modifications to the Service & Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or part) at any time. We may also amend these Terms; material changes will be announced via email and Discord DM at least seven (7) days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Binding Arbitration. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved by binding arbitration in Phoenix, Arizona, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. Either party may, however, bring an individual action in small-claims court for claims within that court's jurisdiction.

16. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and SeatSnag regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
